    Piaget Emperador Coussin XL 700P

The Piaget Emperador Coussin XL 700P is one of the recent releases by the renowned Swiss luxury watchmaker. The brand has established itself as a leading producer of exceptional watches, delivering fine quality watches that are both durable and stylish. Piaget invested 2 years of research in the development of the watch, taking every measure to ensure that the watch not only meets the aesthetic appeal expectations, but its functional requirements as well.

Unlike conventional mechanical watches, the Piaget Emperador Coussin XL 700P doesn’t have an escarpment. The gear at the end of the train turns a small disk upon which two permanent magnets are mounted. The permanent magnets make their turns inside of a bracket that holds two small electromagnets. The set up that resembles the Faraday Generator generates a current when the movement occurs. The generator’s rotation and the self-winding mechanical movement is controlled by a high frequency quartz element.

The set-up has been designed to deliver total precision while ensuring protection from external factors such as gravity and magnetic fields.

The Piaget brand of watches are known for exceptionally slim cases. With the Piaget Emperador Coussin XL 700P however, the mechanical setup that included an inhouse made movement mechanism needed a larger case. To contain all the elements of the watch while maintaining the aesthetic appeal, the designers of the watch developed a stepped gold case. This unique design aims at slimming down the case of the watch. The thickness of the movement is 5.5mm while the case spans approximately double that. The diameter of the watch measures 46.5mm and is cushion shaped for comfort and beauty.

The dial of the Piaget Emperador Coussin XL 700P is one of its features that sets it apart from most of the other luxury watches. Unlike most watches that conceal the movement mechanism under a gorgeous dial, the Piaget Emperador Coussin XL 700P lets you have a peak of the mechanism. Its micro-rotor is positioned on the 9-10 o’clock position as well as the 12-2 o’clock position. The generator on the other hand is suspended under the triple armed bridge.

The hands and other elements of the dial are brightly colored and fashionably set on the dark colored dial. This creates a contrast that makes it very easy to get readings from the watch. Besides the ease of readability factor, this feature enhances the visual allure of the watch.

Nothing brings out the true beauty of the Piaget Emperador Coussin XL 700P better than its astonishing bezel. Combining black ADLC-coated bezel and 18k white gold, the bezel gives the watch an elegant sporty look.

The back of the watch features a power reserve indicator that is visible through the transparent case.

Piaget Emperador Coussin XL 700P comes with a black alligator strap. The strap is made of fine quality material that is very soft and strong at the same time. There is also a clasp for fastening it on the wrist.

  • Roger Dubuis Excalibur Automatic Skeleton

    Roger Dubuis Excalibur Automatic Skeleton

In the world of luxury watches, Roger Dubuis’ models are known for their incredibly detailed design and wonderful blend in colors. The Excalibur Automatic Skeleton Carbon model is the embodiment of everything that Roger Dubuis stands for: elegance, manliness and details.

    1. The design

One of the first things you will notice about the Roger Dubuis Excalibur Automatic Skeleton is the design. A big part of the appeal of this watch is the incredibly detailed skeletonized design. Most luxury watches for men have implemented the idea of a skeleton look in their watches, but this particular model takes it to another level. If you look closely, you will see very thin light grey lines and shapes on the edges of the watch which emphasize its look. The triangle shaped edges also have a purpose in the overall design. They make the edges look like a car tire, which the vast majority of men will appreciate. Overall, this watch focuses on delivering a manly product with a skeletonized look which although quite simple (the watch only displays the hour, the minute and the time), it is very detailed and will always be noticed by all those around you.

    1. Other perks

Besides the design, the Roger Dubuis Excalibur Automatic Skeleton Carbon model has the following advantages:

    • The molded carbon case makes the entire watch much lighter. At the same time, there are fewer parts to be included in the watch since it only shows the hour, minute and second so it is much lighter than previous versions.

    • This model is the only one designed for men and only for men. The Roger Dubuis Excalibur has many women’s watches as well, but this one is the only one launched and designed for men only.

    • The red arrows placed on the hands of the watch make it easier to follow the time despite the skeletonized look.

    • When it comes to details about the design, the makers of this watch went as far as including thin light grey lines on the skeletal design as well. This not only emphasizes the manly look of the watch, it also illustrates the craftsmanship and the detailing that goes into making this watch.

    • Currently, this watch is the cheapest one in the Excalibur series, with an estimated price of a little over $64,000. While this is by no means cheap, when you take a look at all the details and the overall look of the watch, it is definitely worth it.
  • Skeleton Watch By Patek Philippe

    Skeleton Watch By Patek Philippe

When talking about luxury watches, one would think of rare materials, precise movement and a great looking display. These three elements are usually combined with a famous brand name and the result will speak for itself. Patek Philippe is known for making timepieces that have a twist, something special that makes them stand out from the crowd of luxury timepieces so when we got to see the Skeleton Watch that bears the brand name, we weren’t really surprised but very pleased.

    Patek Philippe Skeleton

The Patek Philippe Ref. 5180/1 is truly a masterpiece on every field as it works perfect and looks even better. Despite the fact that the skeleton watch concept is not actually a new thing, this superb timepiece has managed to reinvent the idea in a luxurious way. The watch is actually see-through aside from the moving parts and this is an incredibly hard accomplishment for the manufacturer; every small part of the movement had to be cut down to the smallest possible measurements so that it would still work accordingly but also look apart while doing it. On top of the pieces working in harmony, there is also the fact that there are artistic shapes engraved on them with the addition of a 22K gold mini-rotor. The incredibly thin movement is a self-winding calibre 240.

To keep the marvelous movement in place, a 39mm case made out of 18K white gold was used as well as a crystal for each side; the front has a slightly domed crystal while the back is fitted with a sapphire crystal window. Even the case is cut in order to provide e better “skeleton” experience and there are only 12 spokes that keep it rigid and also act as the hour markers for the display. There is also a blue colored tone that can be observed on the back crystal for the zones where the case is cut which adds even more style.

The result is truly breathtaking as the light bounces off the shiny parts of the movement with every passing second. The white gold, the yellow gold, the blue crystal and the red jewels look perfect together and the hand engraved “Patek Philippe Genève” signature is the final touch to the perfect skeleton watch.
