    Cartier Drive de Cartier

The wrist watch is a conspicuous piece of a man’s personality. They strongly affect how others think of you and reminisce about you. A suave wrist watch on a man’s wrist graciously adds up to the overall confidence and appeal.  The variety of acceptable men’s jewelry is very limited. It comprises of nothing more than a wedding band (if married), a modish pair of cufflinks and a tasteful wrist watch. With the evolution and trend of wearing wrist watches men have found a way to express their sense of style; reflect hidden notes of sportiness, adventurous self or maybe a dignified aura.

Drive de Cartier is the new sensation among the men. Cartier has redefined savoir-faire with the Drive De Cartier. The edgy dial shines like a diamond in low light.

  • Roger Dubuis Excalibur Quatuor Blue Cobalt

Roger Dubuis Excalibur Quatuor Blue Cobalt

Switzerland is known everywhere in the world for producing some of the most beautiful and fascinating watches in the world and this blue beauty is right up there with the best we’ve ever seen. The Roger Dubuis Excalibur Quatuor Blue is a wonderful piece of machinery that stands out not just because of the price, which when it was first launched costed a measly $1.1 million, but also because of the design. The blue overall tone of the whole watch is contrasted by the golden and silver four small balances set at 45 angles each and it is an incredible example of craftsmanship. Although the price may hurt some customers, the design, combined with all the features of it are definitely made to impress.

    The design

When you first lay eyes on the Roger Dubuis Excalibur Quatuor Blue, the first thing you notice is the design. The belt is a beautiful shade of blue that goes perfectly with the dial of the watch and the four balances set at 45 degrees. The combination of colors of the watch, blue, silver and golden goes great together and emphasizes the core materials that make up the watch. The red dial is very thin and you can barely notice it, but it draws your eyes to the dial of the watch and makes the blue belt stand out thanks to the red threat. Although the design contains a lot of colors, they are so wonderfully put together that the final product does not look tacky at all. On the contrary, it spells elegance and will gently stand out with any outfit.

According to the producer, the Roger Dubuis Excalibur Quatuor Blue is made up of over 500 pieces and the main material of all these pieces is “cobalt blue”. The “cobalt blue” is a combination between case, bezel, caseback, and crown. The producer prefers keeping the exact quantities of each material that is used to create the alloy a secret but one thing is for sure: the final product is heart stopping.

When the watch starts spinning, you can’t take your eyes off of it. The precise nature of the movement of the hands, coupled with the four tourbillons that are set in a square shape in the dial of the watch are fascinating to watch. These four tourbillons are connected to five different gears and they all move at the same time.

The Roger Dubuis Excalibur Quatuor Blue is definitely a watch that will stand out. You can wear it with any outfit regardless of the colors, it will only complement it and not make it look tacky.

  • Patek Philippe Calatrava “Squelette”

    Patek Philippe Calatrava “Squelette”

Patek Philippe’s ‘Squelette’ is by far one of the most striking watches on the market at the moment, drawing your attention towards it as soon as you lay eyes on it. The components sprinkled with 18K gold combined with the overall skeletonized look immediately draws all looks, but this is not the only innovation of this model. Here are others that we believe will convince you to purchase this model:

    1. Precision and beauty

Developing this model is not easy, particularly because in order to achieve the skeletonized look, as well as the miniature drawings and engravings placed on these components. Everything is done manually and the watchmaker has to go through different stages in order for the Squelette to be ready. First, the watchmaker has to create each skeletonized component which requires precision and knowledge about this type of design. Only an experienced watchmaker knows when a component is ready and how slim it can be before it breaks.

Next, the second step in this process is placing the engravings and the drawings on the skeletonized components of the watch. Hundreds of hours are dedicated to this meticulous process, with the entire process of developing the watch taking more than two weeks. Only experienced watchmakers are chosen for this job.

    1. The transparent case

The crystal glass and case emphasizes the skeletonized look of the watch while also being strong enough to protect the inner components from water, dust and other such impurities that may affect the watch’s precision in time. The case is also made of sapphire, once again emphasizing the richness of the model.

    1. A perfect mix

On a first look, the Squelette focuses on beauty and on looks. However, this is not the case. Following the Patek Philippe tradition in precise watches, the Squelette’s precision is unmatched, the worst case scenario being -2 or +3 seconds ahead of the real time. The watchmakers focused primarily on mixing the skeletonized look coupled with 18K gold components and sapphires with precision in showing the time. This is the perfect mix between precision in counting the time and beauty.

All in all, the Squelette is a brilliant piece, handmade and focused on precision, a watch which will definitely impress.

  • Angelus U30 Tourbillon Rattrapante

    Angelus U30 Tourbillon Rattrapante

When you are passionate about watches and you spend all your free time gazing at complicated designer timepieces equipped with intricate movements you tend to not get overexcited for every new automatic movement model you see. There are only a few watches out there that are so impressively constructed that actually blow your mind. The Angelus U30 Tourbillon Rattrapante is one of the few spectacular self-winding automatic movement timepieces that prove that there is more to an automatic timepiece that meets the eye.

The uniqueness of the Angelus U30 Yourbillon Rattrapante consists of its intricate construction. It is an automatic winding tourbillon watch that has a double column wheel flyback split second chronograph, a power reserve indicator and that delightful skeletonization that fascinates us so much. The ultimate innovation of this model is the double column wheel flyback split second chronograph that has been incorporated in its Angelus A-150 manufacture caliber, a mechanism that was created by the brand’s watchmakers in more than five years. The real challenge was to engineer all these complications so that they fit inside the small size movement, an elegant mechanism that measures 37.60-millimeter-wide and 9.35-millimeter-thick, and looks stunning inside the skeletonized dial and caseback.

    Angelus-U30-Tourbillon-Rattrapante

The dial of the watch impresses right from the first moment due to its over the top design. There are 15 wheels visible on the dial which complements the hour markers and hands beautifully. In the center there are the hour and minute hands, in the right side there is the 30 minutes sub-dial and below it we find the split seconds column wheel also known as the chronograph’s rattrapante function. At 8 o’clock there is a bright red-green power reserve indicator decorated with stunning wheels and pinions. And the final addition is located in the upper left side of the dial- the one-minute tourbillon. This function is visible through the skeletonized dial and works at 4 Hertz.

The really interesting thing about the Angelus U30 Tourbillon Rattrapante is that it has a unique chronograph complication. The watch offers a rattrapante chronograph with a fly-back function. As mentioned earlier, rattrapante refers to the two central chronograph hands that function at the same time, but when you press the crown button the top one counts the time period while the bottom one stops and marks the split time. Even though there are many mind blowing chronographs with impressive functions out there, this one is by far the most interesting chronograph modification available at the moment.

To this very special function the brand’s engineers have added a stunning vibrating automatic winding mechanism and an intriguing tourbillon. The result is a movement that is both intricate and delicate, one that captivates with its innovation and sophistication. The watch has all the modern features of a 21st century fashion timepiece. Its winding rotor and movement bridges are manufactured from solid 22 k white gold treated with black ADLC coating whereas the edges of the bridges and plates are polished intensively.

The elegant steel case measures 47 mm wide and 15 mm thickness and comes with untreated grade 5 titanium lugs and bezel which match the dark themed movement and the black stealth alligator leather strap.

The Angelus U30 Tourbillon Rattrapante is a spectacular timepiece that captures your attention with its rare complexity. Its unique automatic mechanism, magnificent skeletonized dial and case and innovative functions are the things that amaze even the most demanding watch collector.

    Bell & Ross Tourbillon

This beautiful Pink Gold Bell&Ross is a truly unique watch that combines the very best of modern techniques with the highest quality design and materials to make the French watchmaker as relevant as ever in the world of elite watch manufacturing.

The watch sports a sophisticated design that is best suited for formal attire. It can work perfectly with any type of suit and will certainly shine with a black, dark grey or dark blue attire.

    Bell & Ross Tourbillon

The way this watch looks isn’t the only imposing aspect as its technical specifications are also extremely impressive. The tourbillon, one of the most dramatic elements visible on the watch guarantees its incredible accuracy by making up for the gravity force that can sometimes throw off even the best of watches. The separated hours and minutes hands as well as the trust index that shows when the watch is most accurate are other high tech elements that increase the value functionality and aspect of this particular accessory.

The materials used in the case also play an important role in the overall project. The case and dial are made from a highly resistant carbon fiber that increases the durability of it while also reducing its weight considerably.

The watch is made with a manual winding movement along with an added tourbillion. The dial of the watch consists of a small hour counter located at 12 o’clock as well as a large minute counter located at 6 o’clock. The watch’s dial also consists of a power reserve indicator that can last up to five days and is located at 9 o’clock as well as the trust indicator located at 3 o’clock.

The case of this Bell & Ross watch is extra-large and has a 46 mm diameter. It is certainly a large watch that while working on just about any type of wrist will definitely look better on large wrists. The screw in crown located at 3 o’clock is a combination of rose gold and carbon fiber. The sapphire is anti-reflective and scratch proof allowing good visibility in all lighting conditions and increased durability.

The dial is made out of black carbon fiber with an interesting pattern that makes the rose gold and black carbon combination that much smoother. The numerals, index and hands of the watch are all covered in a photo-luminescent coating that allows the watch to be readable even in the darkest conditions.

The watch is water resistant up to 100 meters and can come with an alligator skin or rubber strap.

  • Laureato Tourbillon with Three Bridges

    Laureato Tourbillon with Three Bridges

One of the oldest Swiss watch manufactures, Girard-Perregaux defines, creates, develops and produces in-house both the external components of their watch models and their movement. Inspired by the company’s past, which goes back to 1791, this version of Laureato Tourbillon illustrates Girard-Perregaux’s modern approach to its know-how, the efficience of its research and development department and the company’s ability to base its innovations on tradition.

An exceptional watch design featuring three parallel bridges, one hosting a one minute tourbillon with 72 elements, Laureato Troubillon with three Bridges came out last year in a limited edition, numbered to 10 copies. The watchmaker provides its exclusive clients  with an exquisite watch whose three usually golden decks have been replaced by translucent blue ones. Indeed, Girard-Perregaux has won along the years numerous prizes with different models featuring three gold bridges: at the Neuchâtel Observatory in 1860, at the Universal Exhibition in Paris in 1889. Placed on the transparent back case, they now seem to be the silent witnesses of the work performed by the 241 components of this ingenious time measuring device.

Designed in a contemporary style, the new Laureato Tourbillon bu Girard Perregaux is a beautiful watch. First,  the bracelet is by itself a small masterpiece: its H shaped links embody the perfection of classical design and simplicity of style. The titanium clasp has double blades and bears the GP logo. The titanium water resistant to 30 meters case has its back secured by 6 screws. An individual number is engraved by hand on the anti-reflective sapphire crystal that gives a nice view of the movement. The octagonal platinum bezel combines perfectly the finishes polished in a spirit of power.

From a technical point of view, this watch is a proud exhibit of the house’s mastership.
The mechanical movement with automatic winding caliber Girard-Perregaux 9600-0004 is one of this model’s most important features. It involves, amongst others, the tourbillon with its hand bevelled and polished escapement and lever bridges, the upper and lower frames balanced by means of regulating gold screws. Despite its 72 components, the  tourbillon is extremely lightweight – 0.3 grams.
